Welcome New Member Firm Shafer Hardwood Flooring and Representative Laura Shafer
The Story Behind Schafer Hardwood Flooring Co.
Scott Schafer, founder and president of Schafer Hardwood Flooring Co., realized his passion early in life was to create top quality premium flooring from wood that would be appreciated for generations. That passion led him to open Schafer Hardwood Flooring Company – formerly known as Schafer Woodworks – in Tecumseh, Michigan, in 1981.
Schafer Hardwood Flooring Co. was built on Michigan history. Literally. The milling and manufacturing facilities are located in the heart of rural southern Michigan, on ground that once belonged to famed automaker Henry Ford. Ford used the land as a proving ground to test drive his tractors and other farm equipment.
Just as Ford revolutionized the automotive industry, Schafer Hardwood Flooring Co. has also revolutionized flooring.
Today, they employ more than 40 craftsmen and women producing premium flooring for projects around all of North America. They are the exclusive manufacturer of the industry-leading V3 engineered hardwood flooring.
For the past 25 years, Laura has been self-employed. 12 years ago Laura, joined her husband at the helm of Schafer Hardwood Flooring Company to aid in the development of a new product to the industry, known as V3. V3 is a true-all hardwood wide plank engineered hardwood floor. Laura played an integral part from the conceptual phase through Research and Development of V3. After 36 months of R&D, Laura worked closely with the Engineering and the Production teams to enforce her passion for Lean Manufacturing. After production implementation, Laura hosted in marketing V3 throughout the North-East corridor of the country.
Since then, Laura has contracted 4M in sales annually for V3 across North America. All the while she managed to stay happily married to her life and business partner, Scott. Laura and her husband have 3 teen age children.
For the past 5 years, Laura has served on the Board of the Croswell Opera House in Adrian, MI. She was also actively involved and worked as an advisor for a recent 7M renovation to the Croswell Opera House.
Laura is excited for the direction she has planned for her sales staff, the promising new markets for V3 and her own marketing goals for 2018.
