Incoming Member Message From New Chapter President Cindy Nunnery
On October 14, 2015, Cindy Nunnery was welcomed in as the 2015-16 Chapter President along with the Board members. Suzanne Gabli, EWI member since 1998, officiated the Board Induction.
It was a night to Celebrate our Board in many ways! Here’s Cindy’s incoming chapter message.
“Thank you Suzanne!
I am always moved by you – who you are as a person and where your heart is. We are honored to have you induct this 2015/16 EWI of Detroit-Windsor Board of Directors and we so thankful for your wonderful words.
I am personally thankful for your belief and commitment to me and for our friendship, which has grown over the years since we met at an EWI event about 4 years ago. EWI of Detroit-Windsor is so lucky to have you on their team and I am beyond lucky to call you my friend.
Would any previous Chapter presidents please stand…
I stand here as the newly inducted chapter president and hope to honor all of you who stood here before me.
You have paved the path with your commitment and your vision for EWI.
You have dreamed.
You have thought big.
Barb Duran, your focus this past year on Steering EWI Forward was instrumental to this organization and to me as a member. I want to say thank you. Thank you for your commitment in the past and I look forward to your role over the next 12 months as Advisor.
On behalf of all EWI members, thank you!
To my family, thank you for your love and support. I love you!
I want to talk for just a minute about doing BIG things, about taking it to the next level, about Thinking Big.
We held our board retreat this past Saturday, here on the first floor, and I have never been more excited, more proud to be on the board with these women and more energized about where EWI is going.
I asked the board members to:
Be about tomorrow, not yesterday
Be accountable to themselves
And most of all, to THINK BIG.
I wanted to focus not just on the business side of things but on the Heart of EWI, who we are inside.
It is very clear to me that the heart of EWI is all about our connections – our relationships; it’s also on taking care of and giving back to our community in the many different ways we do that and it’s empowering ourselves & each other personally and developing ourselves professionally.
It’s about Igniting our passions. Engaging our communities. And Thriving with EWI.
Last month at our EWI/DTE scholarship awards dinner, Vice President of DTE, JoAnne Chavez, our keynote that evening, said that EWI was Detroit’s best kept secret – she said to change that – because more people need to know who we are and what we are about.
And that’s my focus this year.
And it’s a big one…“We are a 50 member firm organization” – that’s my vision.
That’s my dream.
Imagine what we can do!!!
As Steve Wynn, a big Las Vegas Developer, said, “Doubts don’t build empires…..Imagination does.”
So I ask you to let your imagination run and Think Big as you set your own vision and goals for yourself and for EWI – I know I am.
Stretch your mind, spirit, & body and you just might be amazed at the results.
A favorite quote of mine is “Give the world the best you have, and the best will come back to you” I believe this!
Thank you for putting your faith in me.
Thank you for your support.
Let’s Do This Together”
