Angel Grant Giving Recipients

This year we will be giving away two grants to two very special organizations Haven House and Hope House Detroit.

Haven House

MISSION
To eliminate sexual assault and domestic violence and to empower survivors through advocacy and social change in and around Oakland County.

VISION
HAVEN, a nationally recognized nonprofit leader in Oakland County, promotes a world of safe, equal and accountable communities where sexual assault and domestic violence do not exist.

HAVEN has helped domestic violence and sexual assault victims and their families escape abuse and create safer lives for nearly 40 years. Our survivor-centered services honor survivors as experts of their own experiences.

Hope House Detroit

Founded in 2010 as a result of Gary and Becky Gentry’s hearts growing for the kids in the neighborhood of Jefferson & Chalmers. HHD strives to be a highly relational, process-focused ministry where we journey alongside our kids in very intentional ways.

The two programs we chose to support are: Teen Council (TC) is a program designed to help further develop high school students with leadership potential. Hope partners with youth to develop important leadership skills, such as communication, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and more. Read Around the Block (RATB) is a one-on-one reading enhancement program where elementary kids (grades 1-5) can come and improve their reading skills in a fun and safe environment.
