The Adult Students in Scholastic Transition Program (ASIST) provides financial support to adult students at transitional points in their lives. Applicants may be single parents, individuals just entering the workforce or displaced workers who live within the chapter’s geographical boundaries.

Eligibility: To be eligible for the program, candidates must be able to define their career goals and objectives along with meeting the necessary educational and financial requirements. Selection criteria identify, but are not limited to, individuals with financial need; displaced heads of households with small children; socially, physically and/or economically challenged adults; at-risk adults. *EWI of Detroit-Windsor works with eligible community colleges and some non-university level trade schools.
National Scholarship Awards: The number of local awards and amount of each scholarship vary each year. Local recipients are entered in the international ASIST program competition upon selection. Twelve corporate recipients are selected from among the pool of chapter recipients. Each of the twelve recipients at this level is given an additional scholarship and award certificate. Detroit applicants have been awarded numerous national scholarships in addition to our local scholarship awards.
